About Amy

As the oldest of four girls, I grew up in a tiny Wisconsin town where family, community, and hard work were a way of life. That’s a foundation I've relied on ever since.

After earning an accounting degree from Marquette University, I worked as a Certified Public Accountant and in investment banking before meeting my husband, Rod, in 2000. We discovered we shared not just a similar background, but an entrepreneurial spirit, and in 2002, we founded a business valuation firm that continues to thrive today.

That same entrepreneurial drive led us somewhere unexpected when a stray German Shepherd wandered into our lives. Discovering a passionate community of pet lovers in need of good resources, I launched GoPetFriendly.com, a travel website and online community for people who believe pets make every journey sweeter.

We sold our house, bought a motorhome, and spent twelve years traveling the country and researching pet-friendly destinations with our dogs, Ty and Buster. I shared our adventures on a blog and eventually self-published a book.

That nomadic chapter came to a perfect ending when we discovered Bisbee. We sold the RV and haven't looked back. These days, you'll find me working on our house, walking our dog, Myles, and volunteering as Treasurer for the Friends of the Copper Queen Library.

Like so many of you, we came to Bisbee and knew right away that we were home.
